2021-srw Senior Analyst -Category Management, Diamond Collections

Overview

The Senior Analyst in Category Management manages and analyzes the global assortment offering for the Diamond Collections category. He/She partners with and supports the Manager to define the baseline assortment strategy for worldwide retail locations, initiates and facilitates new product development, and establishes unit pricing to achieve gross margin objectives. The Senior Analyst is also responsible for maintaining category architectures (new product development roadmaps), proofing marketing materials, and ensuring accuracy of information communicated to retail locations and the broader Merchandising Division.
 

Responsibilities

The Senior Analyst will propose, implement and monitor baseline worldwide assortments for the Diamond Collections category in partnership with Global Assortment Planning (GAP) team. S/he will perform assortment analysis and provide recommendations for assortment changes and improvements to maximize sales and productivity, while identifying regional trends and recommending assortment strategies when appropriate. S/he will support the development of reports and presentations, such as collection trend reports, style-outs, that communicate a high-level view of new product introductions and current assortment for meetings and conferences. The Senior Analyst will participate in market trend research to support key initiative information as it pertains to the current assortment.
 
The Senior Analyst will conduct analysis and gather comparable product information to set retails for new and existing products. S/he will establish and implement margin reviews and pricing structure strategies to ensure margin requirements are met and manage, execute and communicate the formal price change process. S/he will resolve and submit off-cycle pricing errors or discrepancies. The Senior Analyst will determine estimate retails for Custom Design requests based on like product (on hand & sold) and gross margin structure.
 
The Senior Analyst will conduct reviews to validate the assortment on a quarterly (or as needed) basis, and provide direction for discontinuation of product and partner with cross-functional teams to establish strategies for managing overstock and aged inventory. S/he will ensure project milestones are met on a timely basis including SKU creation and maintenance.
 
The Senior Analyst will analyze product assortments such as collection, classification, price point and sales trends, and make proposals for new merchandise based on findings. S/he will create and maintain architecture reports (product roadmaps) and key initiative image grids throughout various stages of development, ensuring accuracy of the item detail. S/he will partner with cross-functional partners to achieve assortment count and SKU productivity objectives and own positioning, assortments, pricing, and distribution strategies. S/he will manage the communication flow of new product and assortment life-cycle planning information with cross-functional counterparts and facilitate cross functional reviews of new product and partner to ensure target cost, retail pricing, and margin objectives for new product are met.
 
The Senior Analyst will communicate with both the central and regional teams to address and execute key initiatives, category assortments, discontinuations, re-classes, pricing and new product plans. S/he will partner with Global Merchandising Operations Planning to manage all Marketing (catalogue, advertising, e-commerce) and Public Relations (borrow, credit, Press Preview) initiative reviews, validate and provide suggestions for fit and accuracy and ensure deadlines are met. S/he will also partner with Global Assortment Planning and Global Education to create and distribute product communications. The Senior Analyst will maintain and distribute architectures, image grids and reports per the merchandising schedule and as needed.
 
The Senior Analyst will coordinate style-outs and product category reviews for various presentations, while partnering with visual merchandising on visual directives, product adjacency projects and major event window dressings. S/he will assist in preparation of conferences and board meeting materials as well as assist with administrative tasks and other projects as needed to respond to business needs.
