2021-srw Interpretation Assistant (seasonal)

Interpretation Assistant

Interpretation staff will lead informal interpretation programs, implement a variety of family and public programs and may work in our exciting, Life in the Adirondacks exhibit, on Minnow Pond Trail or in our indoor and outdoor activity areas and exhibitions.
The museum is looking for outgoing and enthusiastic individuals with education and experience related to Museum Studies, Education, History, Interpretation, Environmental Education, Outdoor Recreation, Wilderness Studies, or similar fields. The museum will provide training for regional, cultural and natural history, Certified Interpretive Guide (4-year certification from the National Association for Interpretation), and as needed, Wilderness First Aid (2-year certification from Red Cross).
Up to 35 hours/week. Museum is open May through October but shorter term employment is possible.

Reports to Public Programs Manager.
