English as a New Language (Remote) Internship - Summer 2020
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Matching students with volunteer remote teachers
- Helping tutors find appropriate teaching materials
- Teaching English
- Outreach to promote the program
- Recruiting both students and teachers.
- Advocacy work such as making and canceling medical appointments, could be included.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bilingual/ Bi-cultural, must have the ability to read, write, and communicate with high proficiency in both Spanish and English, as well as demonstrate an understanding of or ability to relate to Latino/Latin American cultures and heritage
- Flexible schedule for non-traditional working hours
- Above average organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to communicate effectively with people of diverse social and economic backgrounds
- Must have Computer and Internet Access
The internship will be approximately 240 hours in total.
