PAL: Goodwill Granite State Service Corps AmeriCorps Member

The Granite State Service Corps places AmeriCorps Member mentors with nonprofits to support youth (ages 10-21) that have been impacted by child abuse and/or the foster care system. Members will mentor youth, provide parenting classes, and support foster youth aging out of foster care in schools, after school programs and family resource centers throughout New Hampshire to increase resilience, develop human capital, and ultimately increase self-sufficiency of the youth.

Members will be placed in nonprofits across the state and will work with a portfolio of at-risk students. They will develop relationships and gather resources within the community in order to provide children with academic enrichment and support and to connect them with services to help them succeed.

AmeriCorps members receive a living allowance of $14,279 evenly divided over the course of an 11-month term. Upon completion of their term, members receive a $6,195 Education Award, which can be put toward student loan payments or future education costs.

Sites include the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Nashua (Nashua, NH), Pace Career Academy (Pembroke, NH), Next Charter School (Derry, NH), Nashua PAL (Nashua, NH), Seymour Osman Community Center (Dover, NH), and Rochester Middle School (Rochester, NH).
