PAL: Commercial Insurance Underwriting Internship (Chicago Summer 2020)
Zurich NA is currently looking for Commercial Insurance Underwriting Interns. The intern would work in our Management Liability Public, Professional Liability & Cyber or Middle Markets Business area out of our Chicago office. This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience in Commercial Insurance!
Our intern will work under immediate supervision and will perform requested tasks alongside professionals who perform these roles. Generally, this position is part of a program with an assigned mentor. As a Zurich Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain career-building experience with an industry-leading global insurance company.
Additional responsibilities will include:
- Taking part of insurance broker and carrier meetings
- Working with business lines in helping them to create a full pipeline for their teams to use
- Coordination, execution of broker and carrier meetings
- Data analysis projects
Other development opportunities include:
- Broker, agency and site visits
Basic Qualifications:
- Actively pursuing a bachelors degree and currently enrolled in a bachelors program
- Two or more years of college coursework (should be a rising Junior or Senior)
- Minimum cumulative current grade point average of 3.0 (current could mean last semester GPA)
- Be legally eligible to work in the U.S indefinitely
- Microsoft Office experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Actively pursuing a Bachelors degree in Risk Management, Insurance, Finance or related major
- Demonstrates problem solving skills in a customer focused environment
- Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint experience
- Presentation Skills
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
