PAL: English Teacher

English Teacher

Millbrook School seeks an English teacher for the 20-21 academic year. Interest and experience working with 9th-12th graders is preferred, and familiarity with a wide range of western, non-western, and contemporary literature is a requirement.

The department focuses on developing skills of critical reading, clarity of thinking and written and oral expression, creativity, and appreciation of literature as a means to discuss the human condition. The department is highly collaborative and deeply committed.

Millbrook is a boarding school; coaching, residential life duty, and living in the community are essential parts of our work with adolescents. The English teaching position will be combined with coaching and residential responsibilities. Energy for adolescents, adaptability, humor, and integrity are the hallmarks of Millbrook's faculty. Housing is provided; salary is competitive.

Millbrook School is eager to consider applications from groups traditionally underrepresented in independent school communities. As an equal opportunity employer, Millbrook School does not discriminate in hiring or employment on the basis of race, color, religion, creed, national origin, citizenship status, sex, age, marital status, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local law. Moreover, Millbrook School recognizes the value of a diverse faculty and staff, and actively seeks candidates from a wide variety of backgrounds.

Please send a statement of interest, resume, and application to Katherine Havard, Dean of Faculty, and Samantha Goodwin, English department chair, at facultyjobs@millbrook.org.
