The Communications Intern will gain first-hand experience working for an online art gallery and develop their skills in communications and marketing, including email marketing, social media, and developing promotional strategies for one-of-a-kind artworks. This internship offers an accelerated introduction to art business and entrepreneurship.
The Communications Intern will:
- Assist with coordinating email marketing campaigns for individual artists, gallery programming, and collector events
- Organize and strategize recipient lists for collector communications
- Assist with creating content for social media outlets and track key performance metrics
- Consolidate and implement updates to artist biographies and CVs
- Contribute to writing related to exhibitions, curatorial statements, and content for the Uprise Art journal
- Research press outlets, contacts, and promotional opportunities for growth
LOCATION
The Uprise Art Loft in Soho, NYC. Remote applicants are welcome to apply, but priority will be given to those available to work at the Loft.
DATES & HOURS
Part-time internships are 15-20 hours/week. Full-time internships are 40 hours per week. Uprise Art is open Monday-Friday, 9 am - 6 pm. Seasonal internships run for 5 to 6 months, with flexible start and end dates.
ELIGIBILITY & QUALIFICATIONS
- Students or graduated individuals with a background in art history, arts administration, communications, advertising, or public relations
- Available for the full term and hours of the internship
- Detail-oriented, resourceful and hard-working
- Expert knowledge of social media channels, such as Instagram, Pinterest, and Facebook
- Excellent writing skills
- Beginner/Intermediate design skills or Adobe InDesign skills a plus
