NYC-SRD- HR COORDINATOR/CLERK

ABOUT THIS ROLE

Our HR Coordinator will support our HR team to ensure all of Team Beekman (our employees) receives the same superb service that our Neighbors (our Customers) receive. Ensuring data integrity and a passion for encouraging a culture of diversity, collaboration, and inclusion are absolutely critical to this role.
 
This role will report to the HR Manager, but accepts direction, mentorship, and instruction from our HR Team of three… plus you! This role is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and driven individual to get their feet wet in HR administration and work their way up to supporting strategic initiatives in a few years.

GENERAL INFO
*Travel: local travel to Sharon Springs is required approximately twice a month
*Location: Schenectady, NY
*Hours & Schedule: Monday through Friday, 830am to 5pm with flexibility to work nights and weekends as needed
*Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
*Supervisory Role: No
*Physical Demands: this position operates in an office environment. Some filing and light lifting (up to 20lbs) may be required.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES 
*Data integrity in our HRIS and Payroll platform is your top priority. You will be required to maintain records and ensure accuracy of all inputs
*Coordinating and processing all new hire activity. Once trained, you will guide our new hires and support our managers through their first 90-days with Team Beekman
*With support from our HR and Payroll team, you will be responsible for all payroll and benefits inputs
*Takes tasks and projects from 0% to 100% completion. This will require relentless follow-up with managers, employees, and executives.
* An individual in this role will be expected to learn essential HR concepts, such as exemption status, compliance, leaves of absences, and benefits within 6-months. Your progress will be tracked against HRCI and SHRM standards
*Work directly with the HR Team, hiring managers, and candidates on recruiting initiatives

WHAT YOU BRING TO BEEKMAN
*A commitment to inclusivity, a “roll your sleeves up” attitude, and a willingness to help your neighbor
*Accountability and initiative in your own work and the ability to hold others accountable as well 
*Amazing attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Prior to an in-person interview, a test will be required to ensure you meet these standards
*A high school diploma and three+ years of experience in an office environment or a BS/BA with internship experience is required
*Regardless of your experience, you need a strong interest in Human Resources and Business
*HR, accounting, retail/customer service, or payroll background strongly preferred, but not required
*A clean background, to include MVR
