Student Counselor

Welcome to ACI College Prep! Our after-school test prep center has helped over 60,000 students get into their dream schools since 1987. We now seek young college students who excel at school and want to help others get to their goal as well. This job requires every staff member to genuinely care about the needs of the students who are about to enter college. As a student counselor, your job is to ensure the student is comfortable with every decision they are making. You are to help students understand the importance of higher education and encourage them to do their best. ( We want college students! ) Our team includes the best talents from the best schools such as USC, Princeton, Harvard, Yale, and many more top league schools in the country.
While we are looking for counselors, we are also looking for talents who can fulfill a full-time job. We want talents who can comfortably do sales, answer phones, grade college level materials, teach classes, create material, and counsel students. If you can do any one of those well, please let us know. One who can speak more than one language such as Chinese, Cantonese, Korean, and Vietnamese. English is a must. Job Responsibilities:
Counselor:
  • Keep precise records of student coursework.
  • Schedule and meet regularly with advisees.
  • Study necessary paths to degree attainment, depending on discipline and educational level.
  • Assist students in course registration.
  • Provide counseling for students working with difficult courses or life challenges that may interrupt degree completion.
  • Effectively communicate institutional standards for graduation.

Qualifications
Counselor:
  • No experience necessary for entry-level positions
  • Must be highly organized and capable of handling multiple caseloads
  • Knowledge of database software (such as Excel, Google Sheets, etc.) - Depending on your role
  • Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
  • Strong communication skills
  • Effective listening skills
  • The ability to work with a diverse group of students of different ages
  • Proven ability to work independently
  • Must be able to drive.
  • Agree for a possible background check.
