NYC-SRD-Faculty Group Practice Financial and Operational Analyst

PRIMARY FUNCTION

Reporting to the Business Administrators and Directors, the FGP Financial and Operational Analyst will provide high-level analytical support to Faculty Group Practice (FGP) leadership to assist in achieving the organization’s financial and operational goals. The analyst will work with various data sources to help identify, measure, and analyze opportunities and initiatives relating to revenue cycle, patient access, and practice operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

FINANCE / REIMBURSEMENT ANALYSIS

* Review financial reports of practices (Billing reports, productivity and RVU reports, cash flow, etc.)
* Analyze Profit & Loss statements that accurately display the condition of the practice
* Prepare Scorecards and other reporting tools
* Assist preparation of FY Budgets
* Prepare other analytical reports to identify opportunities for revenue enhancement
* Evaluate payer reimbursements to determine cost/benefit and cost effectiveness of clinical equipment
* Analyze reimbursement impact for any proposed changes to clinical services provided within practice(s)
* Track and review volumes/usage of medical equipment and other clinical services to assess workflows and overall productivity
* Provide support for other projects as needed


OPERATIONS & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

* Assist in performance of operational assessments of existing practices
* Assess inventory of clinical equipment and clinical workflows for new practices joining FGP, and identify issues/opportunities to ensure a smooth transition
* Communicate with practice management, staff and physicians regarding clinical workflows and clinical equipment; assess issues and requests, and report back to Management
* Identify trends and develop work plans with Management to address potential operational issues
* Track and assess regulatory requirements and accreditations for new and existing practices
* Assist in the preparation of business plans for new practices and/or lines of business
* Assist in the preparation of presentations on any of the above topics for departmental administrators, chairs, School and Hospital Administration, or the physicians within the FGP
* Assist in the development and preparation of ad hoc reports on specific issues to help practice managers and physicians make decisions
* Collaborate with Management to explore and build new financial and analytical models


INTERPERSONAL

* At the request of the FGP Business Administrators and Senior Directors, represent the FGP at interdepartmental business meetings and medical practices
* Collaborate with other FGP Analysts to enhance the overall support services through the design and development of new tools
* Present reports and analysis results to Management, Operations and Revenue Cycle teams
* Meet with Management and various teams to present and review analysis results focusing on revenue opportunities, operations, and other business related needs


REQUIREMENTS

* Bachelors degree (preferably in finance, accounting, economics or other business or healthcare related major)
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, or similar programs
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines
* Strong interest in the healthcare business.

MISCELLANEOUS

* Assist in troubleshooting institutional issues as they relate to the FGP
* Keep up on Legislative and Industry changes that may affect the manner in which we conduct business
*Participate in special projects as needed
