Internship at the Office of Risk and Safety
The Office of Risk and Safety of the City of Saratoga Springs, New York is seeking spring interns. The Interns will work under the direction of the Director of Risk and Safety and will be given the following opportunities:
- Assist the City in completing the City’s ADA programming to bring it into compliance with the US Department of Justice and Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration’s Title II ADA requirements;
- Assist in expanding current databases and in developing programming for accessible paths of travel in public right-of-ways in both the public and private sector using the City’s Complete Streets Program;
- Work with the Office of Risk and Safety to review and update City policies in accordance with federal and state legislative workplace safety mandates; and
- Design and implement database functionality for programs as assigned.
Interns chosen for this opportunity will be given leeway to work with other department personnel within City government and the community to accomplish the Office’s goals and objectives. The positions offered provide real life work experiences that assist in educating folks on the dynamics of work environments and how adaptability is the key to workplace survival. These positions are resume builders.
